The post office is literally terrible. Used to be great. Sent out my daughter’s wedding invitations. About 20 percent got there weeks later, never arrived, or were returned for no reason. I went to the post office to complain. The supervisor literally said, the system is broken and no one should rely on it.

The post office is a shit show. It costs way more than $.55 to get a letter to Alaska. That’s why the post office is always subsidized and bailed out. They’re not charging what the service costs.

People don’t realize how expensive (comparatively for the time) it was to mail just simple letters before the USPS and standardized postal rates were implemented. Depending on how far the letter was going, it could cost up to .35 cents per page prior to 1847, that’s approx. $35 PER PAGE in today’s money.

fyi The big problem with the post office now is that no one buys stamps anymore. We all use the internet. The Post Office is down in revenue something like 90%. They won't end it because people still get checks in the mail as well as packages & prescriptions. Here's to finding a solution to the problems with the USPS! WE ALL LOVE THE POST OFFICE!!!!

Except it absolutely never gets to where it needs to go. I have lost hundreds of dollars worth of things bc the post office loses it and when I try to make a claim they always just say “oh well!”
