If you really wanna rattle them, bring them in and give them a tea and show them your hobbies and about your life and how fulfilling your is. we are all taught that life outside of the religion is sad and doomed

Yup. It’s not to bring outsiders in, it’s to make the insiders scared of the outside world.

Am a Jehovah’s Witness it never made a difference whether you’re cruel or welcoming, whether you listened or didn’t ! The point is just doing what am supposed to do

part of how my dad woke up from the cult was a nice agnostic guy he met knocking on doors, they would spend hours talking sometimes

as someone who grew up in a cult-type church and was taught how cruel the outside world was.... yes this works. because seeing how kind a lot of non-christians were and how mean and judgy other church people were definitely helped me to leave.

I was a mormon missionary and this is true!! Seeing people live happy and fulfilling lives outside of my church planted those seeds for me! 🫶

I was forced to do this as a child growing up a JW and I will never forget the time a man stormed out of his house threatening and then realized my sister and I were also standing there. We were 7 and it was terrifying getting cussed out all the time.

As a former jehovah’s witness they’ll use this as a story in their next meeting 😂😂💀… to further affirm how the angels were with them that day … 😂💀

this works. i literally dropped my faith once i realized my friends who didn’t believe in god volunteered just out of the goodness of their heart. kindness can do wonders

also offer your phone to let them call their family! oftentimes their phones are taken from them and they aren’t allowed to speak with their loved ones during their “mission”
