In Amsterdam on the big square you wallked in front of one of the royal palaces of Dutch King Willem Alexander. The Royal Palace is open to visitors as much as possible. When it's the Dutch King's birthday everyone is free from work, children don't have to go to school and the entire country turns into a big party with DJ's and concerts all over the country and you can drink beer wine on the streets. Everyone dresses in orange clothes because the Dutch King's last name is "of Orange" and in Amsterdam a lot of people party on boats on the canals. Look up "King's Day Amsterdam" on Youtube and you will see how big this nation wide party is.

if you’re ever in the netherlands again, I’d recommend the city of utrecht! to me, it has the same charm amsterdam has, but it’s a lot smaller and less busy!🫶🏻
