Women who are natural don’t get the same attention as women that look “perfect”. Perfection requires work. I don’t think 90% of women have gotten work done, 90% of women you have been attracted to may have.

I’ve always been a person who wore less to no make up because my mom didn’t growing up, therefore, I never saw it growing up or felt the need to. I also seemed to still get attention from boys. As I’ve gotten older (I’m 30 now), things have gotten a lot more competitive. More people get work done and a lot younger. Also, the access to make up and makeup tutorials is even higher. Therefore, I eventually learned how to put a small amount of makeup on because I felt the need to. Granted most people can’t tell I’m wearing any still because of the higher amounts others wear. And I don’t think I’m better for this, I’ve always just felt more comfortable with myself in less to no make up since it’s how I’ve been a majority of my life. I also want to add I never had an issue with acne, so I didn’t have the need to wear it in that sense like many girls do.

it’s not even just about “being attracted to the fakeness.” as a woman, when i was a younger girl, it was the boys constantly bullying me for being ugly. and when i became an adult, men i was seeing would make subtle comments about my appearance. overall, it’s hard to feel truly attractive for myself and for a lot of women. i had my first procedure done at 15

Men say "I like natural", but they still mean perfect. Everyone hates obvious/bad filler jobs, but men still expect zero imperfections. ALL women you see on socials are using filters which has screwed the expectations for what a woman should look like

I mean men seem to be giving all the attention to those women, specifically in social media & calling normal women “ugly” “mid”. It’s what is mostly driving that. I don’t have any work done but i am ok with being “mid” lol

What country are you located in? And are you within a major city? In general, those who undergo cosmetic alterations are clustered around large and moderate sized cities. They are also over represented in highly mobile social-economic groups, which may produce bias in the perception of cosmetic alteration prevalence

From my experience I was not “rewarded” for being natural. No man complimented me or thought I was attractive so I got tweaks done to make myself look and feel better. Part of What we are seeing now are women who are making their physical dreams come true because no one appreciated them when they were naturally themselves

It’s because patriarchy has set impossible standards for both women and men. As women, we are told we are fake, gross and overdoing it with makeup/hair/fillers/botox- whatever it may be. Yet if you are not a perfect 10 without makeup, men will tell you that you look “tired” or have “let yourself go”. Men think of natural as some perfect, fresh-faced beauty with long flowing hair and no pores. But the reality is women have acne, stretch marks, imperfections and men pick it apart constantly

And I hate this new trend where women are posting “how old do I look” and it’s a woman who’s gorgeous and honestly looks like maybe 30s and everyone is telling her she looks 50+. Beauty and age are not synonymous, youth doesn’t necessarily equal beauty. We need to get away from the mindset that women have to look like they’re in their 20s their whole life. All women are beautiful so pick the one you like and make her feel good.
