As someone who has to move to different cruise ports and work, as someone who is married to a man that does the inspections on the cruise ships…….not only will I never get on one, but I deeply believe they shouldn’t even be a thing.

I was drugged and have no recollection of the first night of my one and only Carnival cruise. The staff was shady and wanted nothing to do with helping me figure out what happened to me that night. I will NEVER go on another cruise again. Ever.

I know this comment goes against the purpose of your post but I really hope they do one about Rebecca Coriam. I hear cruises are great but the shady stuff that goes on behind the scenes definitely needs to be called out. Especially as so much gets swept under the rug because of the different laws when they’re at sea or whatever.

There’s a ton of stories. A lady went on a girls cruise with her friends both were married but decided to go to the bar and meet some guys and drink. She goes with the guy to the top deck she somehow “fell” overboard while standing next to him. The man went back to his room like nothing happened, he didn’t even notify anyone. Nothing happened to the guy and the camera footage caught nothing. And her husband found out everything she had kids too.

I’m not going on cruises because Trump cut almost all the CDC staff that inspect and monitor cruise ships for outbreaks. They laid off the whole sanitation team (even though it was paid by cruise lines, not taxpayers), so inspections are way down and oversight is basically gone. No thanks.

Honestly I did an assignment on the cruise industry as part of my business degree and would never cruise again. It’s literally lawless on a cruise ship. You have almost no rights and the industry exploits everything.

Went on the last cruise of 2020 and witnessed a person “fall” and die from their balcony. It was covered up and no one on the boat really knew it happened other than eye witness. Ruled as a “unalive” however family suspected crew involvement as she was brought to her room by staff right before. One trip I’ll never forget. The ptsd was real 🛳️😅

As someone who worked in the culinary industry and had opportunities to work on cruises, i turned it down SO FAST! Aint no way im being trafficked nor thrown overboard… its a lawless land… the rules of government do not fully apply, and anything can happen.
