From the woods to the jar with a stop in the middle for a micro-photoshoot! . Mosses normally do not get as much attention as other plants. However, despite their relative biological simplicity, Mosses are so incredibly beautiful both, at the macroscopic level as well at the microscopic level. Also, mosses are ecologically very important (they are pioneer species!). . I personally love staring at mosses and this is why I wanted to make a video portraying their beauty. I also wanted to save this piece of moss that I collected in the woods, so I ended up making a mini-moss terrarium in an enclosed jar. . I collected this piece of moss back in February and it has been living happily in the jar that you saw at the end of the video ever since. By the way, in case you are a moss nerd, you may have noticed that the moss produced sporophytes while living in the terrarium I made! . Are you a moss lover? Let me know how much you like mosses (at either the macroscopic or at the microscopic level ;) . For this video I used an Olympus CX31 microscope at 40x, 100x, 200x, and 400x magnification as well as a Leica ZOOM 200 stereoscope. #microscopy #microscope #moss #musgo #plantbiology #naturalshape #artinnature #biologicalart #drbioforever
