In a way, this was true for me in my early days of transitioning but now that I am more secure in my skin, it doesn’t even cross my mind. Personally, I just want to look my best whenever I head out into the community with one exception- heading to the gym to work out. What’s wrong with always wanting to look your best, regardless of your gender.

Honestly most Americans think “lazy look” means “natural looks better”. I grew up in the Philippines and everyone regardless of gender expression when we go out even to a grocery store or gas station we look presentable and I’ve learned that in Europe this is the case as well. Like I’ve been doing this before transition so putting on makeup is just an added regimen into the routine 💅

You look lovely! A lot of people just don’t understand different cultures 🤷🏻♀️I was raised in French culture and my mother instilled in me the rule of never leaving the house unless you look good. She always looked great, so do I, and my son too. He doesn’t wear makeup, but he is perfectly groomed💋💄💅🥰

Fellow southern woman. I was raised much lower key in terms of relationship with appearance, but I knew women whose own HUSBANDS quite literally never saw them without hair & makeup done. My grandma had friends who would wait for their husbands to fall asleep before showering & then wake up at like 4 am to do full glam before he woke up. Every single day of their lives. 😅
