If she didn’t explicitly ask her to watch them and she didn’t know what the plan was she didn’t commit to it. She was misled and when found out the truth she was initially going to do it anyway, but then she was totally blindsided by more expectations and the truth of the reason she needed a babysitter

If I was the friend I'd feel bad you're being left out. They didn't even tell you about the trip. What if they talked about in front of you after it happened? If I was close with OP I'd not go and spend my time with her.
