The annoying thing is that when Julius Caeser was assassinated, Augustus (Adoptive son of Julius and heir) and Marc Antony worked together to end Brutus and Cassius for their treason. During this Augustus heard that Marc had a strong fondness for cleopatra, even to the point of an obsession. After they tracked down Brutus and Cassius, Marc married Cleopatra and even though Cleopatra had a good alliance with Rome, Marc convinced her to betray Rome and so Marc became a traitor to his own country after Augustus fully came into power.

The part of her not be beatifull and just smart is incorrect, I mean she was described in sources as above beatifull woman but also very intelligent because the city of Alexandria in Egypt was center of science in ancient world so she had education at level of today Harvard. People can be both smart and attractive it's not such big deal
