I always point out that there's millions more people going to the beach today than there ever were before, so if there are more shark attacks it is because there are more people, not more sharks. And if there are millions more people going to the beach now and there's only a few extra bites a year compared to the previous decade, then the rate of attacks technically is going down (The rate of population is increasing faster than the instances of bites therefore bite ratio is smaller). Plus, shark feeding is a popular tourist attraction so it's not the shark's fault that people have made themselves associated with food.

My grandfather was on a ship that was sunk and was in the water for 5 days with many sharks. We always asked if he hated them and he said no, they were just being sharks. if he was cool with them, I can be too.

Swim in a pool then. Don't enter their home and be surprised when a shark shows up. That's like going into a kitchen and being surprised that a fork's there!
