Although this is true if one looks at poltical philosophy as a whole, leftism is a fringe ideology in politics so it can largely be disregarded. It's much more reasonable to discuss mainstream ideologies/beliefs, and those with respect to where the overton window lies

People who call themselves centrists are easily propagandized. They also have an extremely narrow view of politics and most definitely conflate having social programs to socialism itself. "Sweden is socialist" is probably their goto quote
