It sounds like they’re trying to keep everyone happy and it’s not going as planned, they want to keep everyone who wants no HP stuff happy by reducing it as much as possible, while still having a safe space for the people who are in the LGBTQIA+ community and still have that love for HP despite the author, it’s two sides of the same coin and one side will always be hurt no matter what decision they make, it seems clear cut to the people who want none of it, but it will isolate the people who still have that love 🤔

listen most of the fantasy community can't even do that actually understand that Harry Potter is a horrible IP that while it might have a huge impact on your childhood just like Orson Scott cards books we have to put them down and walk away until either they're in public domain or the person who owns the licensing is not a terrible human that is paying to have trans people and lgbtqia plus people erased out of History because also JK has now had a problem with non-binary people

If it was genuinely JUST that JK is a horrible person and but her books were good (like Dr.Suess) that’d be one thing. Let’s remind ourselves that the Harry potter series is written rooted in racism and antisemitism. To support Harry Potter is to support racist stereotypes and caricatures.

It sounds like they are really bending over backwards to try to please RomanceCon attendees, and literally nothing they can possibly do is enough to appease you. We don’t like this author! Okay, we spoke with her and she’s okay not coming. We don’t like that you did HP conventions in the past before JKR showed her true colors! Okay, we cancelled that con and made another one that wasn’t so HP-centric. Oh, we also have a summer camp for trans kids and have partnered with Trans-positive non-profits. We’re mad people are dropping out if RimanceCon! Okay, we’re offering to donate a significant portion of our profits to reputable trans-positive non profits if they come back. We don’t like that you have five HP panels at your other con! Okay, well only one of those five panels doesn’t have a trans person as a panelist, but we’ll go ahead and break those people’s hearts and tell them their panels are cancelled.
