As an aspiring game dev I’m gonna be really honest, I see programming as a side gig, nothing more, nothing less, the more YouTube tutorials I watch the more i learn, I really don’t need a bachelors or master’s degree in Computer Science to make it and I believe you should learn a trade that will become a transferable skill like electricity, soldering, electronics, there’s way more effective ways to find a $100k salary job when you do a trade and honestly I believe if you wanna do computer science, treat all of it as a literal learning path towards success cause things are and will be complicated, don’t regret your decision to do CS but don’t let it become your whole personality, it will change you and not for good

the intro was hardest for me bc we had to do a few group projects and i got a group of pain and suffering. we had 3 months of time for the project, our leader didnt pick a theme, i got bored and anxious of waiting and after a month forced the group to take a theme. then they named me leader so i called and tried to get them to work. i did my part during the second month, did some basics for the others to do when they have time, tried to make irl and online meetups every other week(trlling to work and text me at any time of any day) but noone came. on the last 3 days they started working and i made our deadline one day early so i wouldnt get pushed to being late by them and they were all too lazy to check the actual deadline. so during the presentation i answered all the questions from the teachers, and introduced my work and let everybody else do their part. at least they all decided to say that i did the most of the work and that i should get a 10. so i got a 10, those that were there during presentation got 6-8 and the dude responsible for presentation making wasnt there during presentation so the teachers gave him a debt to present everything alone a few days later. still dont know if he did his part but almost everyone from my group left uni a week after this project ended. programming isnt too hard, but group projects with people that think that 'nobody is doing the project in other groups so we shouldnt do our project either' is horrific when the project cant be done by a single person. also we had to use a site to monitor our groups activity by adding text there and it was what our teachers put most of our grades in so i was happy to atleast spam almost daily activity of waiting for others and doing my parts. (i did remind my members to write something there but since most were too lazy to even write a single word they got their marks lowered)
