The saddest part about grief is ppl treat you differently, they distance themselves as though you have a contagious illness, ppl don't know that all you really need is that silent person, just sitting beside you. ❤️

my mother moved us from west coast to the south when I was 11. I was taken from my entire family and at age 23 I moved back.. I thought I got my family back but it was so far from what I thought.. we are all different. I mourn them, they are still here, this makes so much sense.. this is heartbreaking and healing at the same time..

I couldn’t agree more. I lost my sister 3 years ago next month and the first year was tough, but not as tough as subsequent years for me. Sooo much support that first year but after, you’re more or less alone. I’m not who I was before I lost my sister. I’m forever changed. This is a grief I’d never imagined I’d experience. I’ve been told soo many times “get over it” and that’s impossible.

this is so true for lots of situations. I am a different person after losing both my parents, one suddenly and the other stretched out with dementia. I hold on to the memories, but I had to find a new normal.

I think its even harder in your situation as well because there is still questions, you and your family dont have closure so how do you grieve fully? I feel like if you knew exactly what happened it could potentially change the way you grieve, changing the way you and your family interact as well.
