I think stonewalling works rly good on bullies. They want to elicit a reponse out of you and by not giving them one it usually pisses them off.

I can accept and understand where others are coming from when being negative , but at what point should they be held accountable? When it’s chronic? When it affects more than me?

I really wonder how it affects a person long-term if they have no choice removing themself from a specific person e.g. Bc it‘s someone in the family. For many years I tried to be the bigger person and understand the other person but at some point it feels like fawning and losing one‘s own voice. *

As a neuroscientist, I learnt a lot of this video when you mentioned the brain regions. I agree with the comparison making them tear you down, everything is always seen as an invisible competition, you need to really rewire your brain into only comparing your self to your self. This is where the magic kicks in, that you become so laser focused within your self that you don’t even get bothered by someone’s words or opinion or behaviour.

What I don’t understand is acting on your jealousy or insecurities. I have had extremely low self esteem and I have definitely been jealous but I would NEVER take it out on that person. I always check myself and work it out within myself but I understand that it’s not the persons fault that IM jealous or insecure

This also applies to racism, sxism, nationalism, xenophobia, etc. It's called the Outgroup derogation instinct

When service workers are rude i report them to corporate a lot of them feel entitled to treat customers so bad. I been on both ends and there is no reason to be mean to strangers.

I swear i think there’s smth abt me that it seems the people around me do this to me a lot unprompted, i don’t even do a thing. All i did was being nice and friendly… even i did nothing at all, sometimes i do have to tone myself down cus i feel like my presence intimidate people naturally (without me doing anything). From elementary, middle school, highschool, uni… i have had people who tried to bring me down, but they pose as “friends” i do feel this animosity thing a lot in my gut. Idk if im just paranoid. A lot of this can be seen as “teasing” but i often feel there’s some animosity and intention behind it.

Off topic but how can I heal my nervous system? I left my narcissistic father’s house recently. I think it’s messing with my blood pressure but it’s just my bro science.

I LOVE THIS SOOOO MUCH THANK YOU!! Mostly bc I’ve only learned this lesson recently and realizing a majority of the world is designed to put ppl down and keep them there. It’s a lot easier to take things less personally when equipped with the knowledge that just bc they make it personal doesn’t mean it’s actually personal. 💖💚✨

The more energy and attention you give them, the more they live for it. Ignore them and be called a bully. You can’t win which is why you have to leave altogether if you can.
