Edna never explicitly stated that all the supers with capes died because of their capes, just that their capes would snag on things and cause issues. gotta remember, most supers were sturdier than humans, so just because they get sucked into a jet turbine doesn't mean they died from it.

I thought it was pretty obvious that these cape accidents weren't implied to have been fatal but were just silly accidents. All of these superheroes were at Bob and Helen's wedding at the beginning of the movie.
