If god doesn’t want a baby here it won’t be here, period. Even with IVF. IVF is one of those battles I think he gives to his strongest soldiers ♥️in the end he is the only one who can judge, don’t let the DM get to you. By them judging you, they are the sinners.

This is such a touchy subject. I have thought about IVF, but decided against it. It’s not the actual IVF is problematic. It’s the embryos that could be left over. What happens to them? Do they just sit on ice? That is where it becomes tricky.

I’m all for modern medicine but unfortunately IVF raises some serious ethical concerns. As a Christian I believe life is valuable from the moment of conception, and embryos deserve respect and protection. Most IVF practices, however create excess embryos that may die or remain frozen indefinitely.

My opinion is if you think IVF is wrong bc it’s “playing God”, then you need to be consistent. Any form of birth control (condoms, pulling out) would also be “playing God”. Adoption is “playing God”. I think these things are given to us as tools & we steward them & use wisdom & seek God in every single decision we make, He’ll give us wisdom. (If it isn’t clear, I DO NOT think IVF is a sin, and those that do, need to be consistent then).

My husband and I did IVF, but we only had 2 eggs fertilized and implanted. It is more expensive, but we could not support freezing babies indefinitely or destroying embryos.

My biggest conviction with IVF is that if you believe life begins at conception, then you cannot justify discarding the fertilized eggs if more than one is viable after retrieval. If you don’t believe life begins at conception, then it’s not hypocritical to use IVF. There are ethical ways to use IVF like freezing the eggs with the intention to implant them later or using someone else’s frozen eggs that are in storage if they donate or sell. If you’re anti abortion because life begins at conception, then logically you would be careful about IVF. I’m not anti modern medicine, God gave us the gift of knowledge and science

As someone 6 yrs deep in infertility, I cannot morally support IVF bc if we believe life begins at conception, then I don’t know how we can discard/freeze souls with dignity. I 1000% understand why others feel differently, so not here to judge anyone. I totally get it. I personally cannot morally support the industry.

If you identify as pro-life and believe life begins at fertilization, you should know IVF often involves creating multiple embryos (on average 6-12). Many are frozen indefinitely or thrown away (ending their life). The logic is inconsistent if you are anti-abortion. Society often deems IVF as a miracle, when on average, it ends more embryonic lives per person than an abortion would.

I think it's only wrong if you are also against abortion. I am a Christian and I believe in abortion care for anyone who needs it and also believe in IVF even though many embryos end up being destroyed.

I don’t think IVF is right or wrong for everyone, some people are called to do it and it’s all part of God’s plan for their life. Some people are not called to it because God has something else planned for them. A relationship with God is not going to be one size fits all. You don’t need to consult with people about it, you need to consult with God about it. You can only take the choices you are given one day at a time, and trust you’ll end up exactly where God wants you to be.

As a Catholic, I don’t support IVF because it goes against what we believe about the sacredness of life and how it should begin. IVF often creates many embryos, and sadly, some are destroyed, frozen, or used for research which we see as ending a human life. Babies should be conceived through the loving union of a husband and wife, not a lab process.

I’m a Christian doing IVF right now and my thought process for it all is the same as yours, god has provided amazing modern medicine for us to utilize and he wants us to form families. So I truly believe it wouldn’t be something available to us if it was considered a sin to use it.

I believe God creates families in MANY many ways! ❤️Natural, adoption, IVF, embryo donor, egg donor, sperm donor, surrogate, gestational carrier! For those of us who struggle getting pregnant naturally, I am very grateful God provided us many other ways to have children ❤️❤️❤️

I honestly don't love it. I think there is too much human intervention and I don't think the strongest healthiest kids are coming from this. Because realistically all of our eggs aren't meant to be fertilized and all the sperm isn't meant to make it to an egg either.

i beleive IVF is not only a sin in most cases, it’s often a human rights violation. if you’re genuinely seeking answers, i’d encourage you to look into the organization Them Before Us by Katy Faust. 3rd party reproduction puts the desires of adults over the rights and needs of children, and many lives are often lost in the process. not to mention the risks and health issues that often come for children who do make it through this process alive. IVF is as significant issue an issue as abortion in my opinion, and the number of embryos discarded is significant.

not necessarily Christian, but pretty conservative. I believe life starts at implantation because it can’t grow/ cells can’t multiply until it’s in a body. you deserve a family of your own and people should not try to shame you for that. there is no clear answer I think it’s the intention behind it that matters.

Allie Beth Stuckey has some really great podcasts about this! Very thought out and biblically sound. Sometimes we can have the best intentions but that doesn’t make something moral or right. “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?” Jeremiah 17 : 9

There more lives lost/discarded in the process of IVF than created. Eugenics is also a massive part of the IVF process. If we believe life begins at conception, we should have major issues with the ethics involved.
