Our medical personnel are not trained to detect conditions on darker skin - basic conditions like anoxia, blood loss, etc. They are trained to expect PoC to be drug seeking even though white people are as likely if not more likely to be drug seeking when complaining of pain.

I was literally looking up some stats on congenital syphilis rates today (sounds random but trying to do research to see if I needed the serial testing recommended by ACOG after a midwife at my practice ordered the test for me without discussing benefit vs risk & stats with me first 🙄) - white mothers are the least likely (by a long shot) to have babies born with congenital syphilis and the consensus is it’s due to the higher standard of care/easier access to prenatal care. This is such a well known thing, it comes down to access to quality care, not “genetics” being better or worse like the commenter suggested.

It’s outrageous how many people of colour get treated like absolute trash and not worth the same treatment as white woman. Everyone should be treated the same especially during the most vulnerable time. Child birth is a very difficult and vulnerable time. Thank you for speaking on this. ♥️♥️♥️

The leagal system and especially Are prison system is modern day Slavery. The medical system isn't much better at all. Their bodies were our lab rats

I will die on this hill - as another white woman, I TRULY feel and believe that we are treated substantially better than poc. We are listened to more and cared better for and it’s disgusting. Everyone should be receiving the same level of care regardless of what you look like. We all bleed the exact same.
