They also did him dirty by having him throw 50 passes in a game with a hurt shoulder just so they could say he’s not worth the money and be able to pass on his second contract so they could go after Watson, which a lot of teams were at the time because of what he did in Houston nobody knew his off the field issues would cause him to tank in skill at football like that

If the Browns kept Baker, they would have a couple AFC championship appearances and maybe a Super Bowl appearance. All that Watson money put back into the Browns.

At the time they passed on extending Baker for what was supposed to be a pro bowl potential Hall of Fame QB in the Watson no nobody knew at the time that is off the field issues would just cause him to become a terrible football player as well but at that time it seemed like a good idea and they weren’t the only ones going after Watson

Tbh he didn’t have the tools he needed at that time. It wasn’t a good fit personality wise, Cleveland always liked very clean cut sanitized QBs. Idk why they’re so hung up on Watson. But at that time…they was gon run him into the ground. Ultimately.
