Characters are written for us to understand them on an emotional level. Despite if a character may be perceived as a “bad” character that stems from somewhere. For example the beginning of acotar Rhys was portrayed as the villain but we understood what he did why he did it, we then understood that maybe the things he did was bad but it was out of survival. Characters were written for us to emotionally connect with them not to ignore them and their emotions
