I honestly hate mal as a leader. I mean, she’s okay. I think evie would’ve been leader better, but I genuinely don’t know. I just find mals actions in d2 and d3 to be kind of terrible. I’m sorry. I find evie more of a leader than mal.

Ben never got any credit after Mal came back in D2. He's the one that calmed the situation and made Uma realize what she did was wrong while Mal just fought her. Ben tried to reason with Audrey while Mal fought her. And Uma and Harry turned on Ben when the truth came out when it was fully Mals fault and he was forced to agree.

Mal wasn’t fully ready to be a queen at first she was controlling, made immature choices, and overlooked the Isle’s struggles. However, she grew into the role through personal growth, courage, and learning from her mistakes. By the end of the Descendants series, Mal proved herself worthy by uniting Auradon and the Isle, showing compassion, and choosing to lead with fairness and understanding.

Okay I get what ur saying but hear me out, mal is the one that had to unlearn the most out of the original 4 and when she saw the other 3 living out their best life and her struggling to do so she felt like she had no one to turn to, so when Ben called her out, she really felt in that moment maybe he wasn’t worthy of the second chance Auradon was giving her that is why she left. After far as the third movie goes, i think it could be implied that they could’ve tried again at a later time but they needed to take immediate action now, to stop any villains coming through, but when they realized that the villains arent as bad as thought plus the other vks having a hard time adapting to the fact that they’d never go back to the isle that’s why Mal took down the barrier. She also had an identity crisis for 3 movies straight, tryna figure out how much of Auradon and Isle could she be. It’s not that she’s not a good leader it’s that she made mistakes but who doesn’t

off topic kinda but do u remember when hades was blasting mal while mal was in dragon form and then Audrey was like "the precious queen can’t even protect us" every time i see that part of descendants 3 i always say what would have Audrey had don’t if hades tried to break free if mal and Ben never got together 😭😭😭

The thing with Mal is that yes she does some questionable things in D3 but she owns up to them. In D2 she was feeling lost and didn’t know who she was and the thing about leaving her friends was that when she tried talking to Evie she was shot down. In D2 Evie didn’t even want to talk about life on the Osle and wanted to forget it. The entire series from D1-D3 wha about Mals Journey of finding herself.
