@tuhkyjuhslife: Someone plz give me a reason to keep going with #thenightingale because I’m STRUGGLING. I was told to try “The Women”. #fyp #BookTok #blackbooktok #blackbooktoker #kristinhannah #historicalfictionbooks #dnfbooks #bookreview #bookreaction
Really! One of the best books I’ve read. It’s about survival during a terrible war. You don’t have the right perspective. It’s a phenomenal

I felt pretty blah while reading it for my book club. One person in there captured how I felt when they said something along the lines of this is a 3-D drawing. Flat characters with the illusion of depth.

I would support you in making it a DNF. I finished it because my friend encouraged me to

I give a book 100 pages to hook me; otherwise I'm not wasting any more time

it's honestly worth it. I will admit it's my third favorite hers, not my first. but the payoff on this one is so worth it.

I understand! I did love that book. However, I’m having a hard time getting through diamond eye, which is another one by her that everyone recommended. Sometimes it’s just the story. It’s not even the writer. It’s just the story.

Kirstin is a great writer, but all the violence in women is too much for me. I did Nightingale in audio. Never failed 8am I end up on a grape scene. Same thing with The Great Alone. I LOVED The Women. My favorite one of hers.

I pushed through and finished it, but it was just okay to me. I think I gave it 3 stars. I liked the four winds better (the only of her other books I have read so far!)

I have found my people. For me, the romance ruined the book for me. It wasn’t remotely believable and enraged me. I am a romance girlie but I like other genres so it wasn’t the presence of romance. I like that shit 🤣. I liked the overall story but it fell apart in the details for me. If I had not been painting my mom’s garage I would have DNF’d too. The audio was solid narration

It was a little after the 300 page mark where I couldn’t put it down—a lot starts happening. Up to that point, it was a little slow for me.
