I haven't worked for an hourly wage in awhile unless I'm charging $150-200/hr but I prefer a bid type pay where I can assure I'm hitting my profit margin

I have a few select clients I do hourly plus materials for but it's rare. I am learning that my time is more valuable than anything. I deserve to be paid for every minute.

This is why I’ve failed as a contractor. I have given away so much of my time. I’m 55 and just in last year finally started doing 4 hour minimum charge. One of the reasons i enjoy being a sub contractor.

I feel like everyone wins with qoute jobs, I get paid what I quoted and they pay what they agreed too. No surprises or disputes. But I will do hourly for certain clients that are regulars.
