I've said this alot and I won't stop. Drake deserves to be in the same conversations as Taylor Swift not Kendrick Lamar. Thats on a music level. If we are talking about Drake the person... he deserves to be in the same conversations as R. Kelly...

No that lost to Push meant something to the culture it didn't mean anything to those who wanted to have that background music for the club and pop fand that's why the Clipse album is going well because they mean something to the culture

never understood the drake popularity. he was always the next Vanilla Ice/Marky Mark. Drake was always the safe choice, the rapper Midwestern teenagers could have a poster of and listen to that was not gonna stir the status quo. when rappers in the 90s talked abkut " thr industry", Drake is what they were talking about. Kendrick brought the culture back to the creators and innovators instead of manufactured hits. Clips album is hitting, because hip hop fans have been waiting for thr music to come back to its roots.

I genuinely appreciate takes like this on music and how it translates into life. Plus I really miss the evaluation of an artist as a they have life changing experience and the ability to express raw and real emotions.

It’s hip hop fans that keep Drake in hip hop. They want to compare him to Kendrick. If hip hop fans will stop talking about him then it will go away. He is an all genre artist.

It’s like when you’re playing tag with a kid and then when you’re about to tag them out they scream “I don’t want to play anymore!!!”

The culture definitely cared that Pusha bodied Drake. Cause that's when alot of people started looking at him different. But he's got so many pop fans Bm and THEY didn't care. Everything else you said was spot on

Drake thought all his beefs would go like the one with meek. The difference is meek is a rapper push and Kendrick are MC’s big big difference
