But what if you stop reaching out because you aren’t interested in the friendship anymore, and they keep reaching out and you respond out of kindness or being polite, because you don’t want to have a “formal friend breakup” just a casual fading out. If someone isn’t investing maybe they just want to go a different direction

I got too comfortable being disrespected by “friends” when I wasn’t at their level. Now that I am they know they no longer can do that and that’s why I let a lot of friendships go. I’m not gonna be giving more than I get back ever again or being someone that people look at like yeah my life is bad but at least I’m not her ever again.

I have one like that, when I stopped texting first, we didn't talk for over a year, and we only spoke again because I reached out. she always acts friendly, she always makes time for me if I ask, but that's it. I have spoken to her about how it makes me feel that she won't reach out or check in, and she pretends to be concerned. in the beginning she would message and want to hangout almost everyday, basically love bombing. then she met a new romantic interest and dropped me like garbage and even though the romantic interest didn't work out, she just moved on to a new friend. like if you don't like me don't respond, let me know, like why is it this weird in between. I've moved on and the only reason they arent blocked or unfriended is because they also happen to be our barber (which happened long after the official friendship, we met at a show)

Hi. I have ADHD (the bad kind) - when I can't see or hear you, I literally forget that you exist. I am incapable of missing people unless I'm actively reminded. This is a symptom that is not affected by how much I care.

I had a friend who helped me through one of the hardest situations and partied with me on my birthday and wipe my tears on I woke up this morning and she unfollowed me on Instagram. So at this point, you just never know who is truly your friend and who is just there at the moment. But I think that reflects a lot more about them than me.

this is why i always try and make the effort with my friends, because i am afraid of turning into this friend 😭 i do try and make time for everyone but it can be hard, especially when i don’t have the energy to be social sometimes

Say it for the people in the back- because why TF are y’all gonna spill your deepest self to me and I do the same with you- and then when summer hits you don’t text me once unless I text first😒 the ONLY people I understand this for is the couple friends I have that we’re seniors going on to college when the school year ended this year- that is the only thing I totally understand not contacting me for because their getting ready or are setting up for college-

Yeah... I've had "friends" upset with me because I questioned if they actually *were* my friend but never messaged me first. Also, one of these people admitted TO MY FACE that he would see I texted him, and just... Ignore it.

Yeah, i went no contact with my “best friend”, cause of this reason. She still hasnt reached out, actually she never reached out ever. I had to initiate everything, and to be honest it was tiring. She hasnt reached out, oh well not my problem anymore. And we work together, i dont know, dont care no more
