i'd like to say, this isn't what landback means at all. i agree w the general sentiment of some ppl aren't realistic in their ideals but landback does not assert everyone has to get out, it asserts stewardship over the land should be returned to indigenous folks and there ARE absolutely pathways to this that are realistic. i encourage ppl to actually listen to indigenous activists who talk abt this.

I don’t disagree but “giving land back to the Native Americans” doesn’t mean everyone else leaves it means give Native Americans more power in government/control over how the land is used and there are policies actively in place that are moving towards these solutions that are functional and realistic.

First of all, realistic goals are set by those who fight for them. My union never dreamed of healthcare until people stood up. Secondly, statehood and respect are literally basic minimums that ARE possible and actually easy. Cops famously dont even look for missing Native women, and we can’t advocate for them cause it’s not realistic? Cmon

its so frustrating, beleifs need to be rooted in principles. a good principle to have is "any movement that is trying to mass exile millions of civillians most of which were born there, is a bad movement". there is no way to remove millions of people from somewhere without mass pain and suffering

I’d say that this also applies to Israel insofar as it would be impossible at this point to just get all of the descendents of the original Zionists who initially colonised Palestine. I think at this point a more realistic goal would in time be a non-Israeli one state solution where everyone is ensured equal rights under one state and land and reparations are given to Palestinians

I get we gotta compromise where we must, but they were getting land stolen as late 1800s and their lands are still being messed with. land back isn't even the removal or 300 million ppl, but that natives get to practice certain practices and returning the land even a lil to it's more native state. not wilds running things, but returning native plants to the areas and cultivating the land similarly to how once had been. not the complete topple of what exists, but some do and that's not entirely bad considering what the system does and is doing and has done
