My mother was and is hugely melancholic and prone to depression, so I developed a “must be life and soul” to keep her cheerful. I couldn’t be depressed myself, I HAD to be cheerful

My mother is 100% jealous of me. I have tried really hard to make my kids’ lives better than mine was. I love their success.

My husband is from a parental envy family and I literally couldn't comprehend it at first, cos my mum is my biggest cheerleader and wanted me to be better than her. Now I want that for my niece and I can't even fathom being jealous or competing with her. Of course she's a more gorgeous, smart, strong better version! 💕✨

my mother loved to laugh and to try to distract her from the hatred she had from my older sister. I needed my mother to stop beating my sister every day and I couldn't do anything about it. if my sister and I were doing skits together, maybe she wouldn't be so mean to me and beat my sister for the rest of the day. my mother struggled with depression, but it turned into something much more sinister before I was even old enough to form long-term memories. every time I meet someone who tries to always keep people laughing, my inner child cries with them
