@gleetzbapsang: why I was there lol ⤵️ —— No shawarma, I know 😭 but after a week of eating everything I wanted to try more niche flavors for my last day~ So why 🇱🇧? 💉My friend @ghinkos was guest spotting at tough love tattoo in Beirut so i tagged along; mostly for leisure, but i also wanted to learn more about this country that the US was so scared of. 🌎In the west we antagonize middle eastern countries with harrowing headlines and scary travel advisories. Like, when you google Lebanon the first page is just news articles about bombs and war. And while these events are very much real- like the blast in 2020, and the current aggression by Israelis in south Lebanon- it’s’ also important to remember that Lebanon is also a country with happiness and like.. people living their lives lol. There are cities with amazing restaurants and tattoos shops and nightlife and farmers markets and art exhibits. 💚Fear grows in the absence of understanding.
