kinda stepping into an alter ego honestly helps me w the confidence in another language haha, and practice visualizing yourself speaking easily w a fluid accent etc ! won’t translate every time but sometimes it will and just focus on those / view the more difficult interactions as humorous without feeling discouraged ! also just jumping in the deep end as much as possible / reading lots of books in french even if you don’t fully understand them at first, watching all your shows etc in french ik that’s an obvious one but still took me a while to actually do it and it just helps you start defaulting / thinking to yourself in french with less effort. ça viendra avec le temps, courage 🤝

same. same. my ego shrivels every time I speak in French. I am taking the small victories and just fronting out the embarrassing moments.

As someone who comes from a multilingual household. Be confident in yourself and say it with your full chest. I am learning Kurdish and even when I get some words wrong my in laws are so sweet and supportive.
