Audiobook narrator here. The rights holder has to approve the audio before it moves. Sometimes they approve without listening. And yes we do edit our books, but some don't. I had a coughing fit once in the studio but the rights holder caught it

My husband gets angry at his tech all the time and it refuses to work the angrier he gets! Then I come along and, calm as can be, and it works! I think some people are “sliders” and our own energy actually affects tech functions…🙃

Or... this is some Blair Witch level of marketing because now people will flock to the audiobook just to hear the crash out. It's like the people who are now intentionally creating posts with spelling mistakes and factual errors so people will correct them which is engagement. Humans always figure out ways around.

Oh yeah, I yell at my tech all the time. I am just floored that anybody isn’t editing. Or at least the author isn’t giving a final review Listen through. I’m also a narrator for the past 16 years and I now run an audiobook company for self published and Man I just… the author doesn’t just give it a listen through? Even just a friend listening to on 3X speed would’ve caught that.
