Fighting U.S. police as a protester is a quick way to get yourself and bystanders shot. And in American culture, aggressive protest (vs peaceful) will tend to lose hearts and minds. Especially setting things on fire. Our individualist and pro-business mindset often sees that as more destructive to society than whatever is being protested 😒 And we aren’t wrong about that - our weak social safety nets mean if people lose their car (can’t work without it), get hurt (healthcare extremely expensive), or lose income for any reason (burned building, injured, arrested, etc.) the harm can indeed be great. Another thing compared to Europe is less density means it’s not as easy to gather large protests. Unless you’re in one of the few major metros with great public transit, you will have to drive to the location and find parking. Makes it harder to get people out for large protests - adding the risk of your car being smashed or burned would make it difficult to muster anyone.

Their police don’t train with the IDF, most of ours do. The nypd’s budget is $6B, France’s is $1.5B. We aren’t the same, Chicago & LA’s budgets are larger than France’s.

-Violent Protest or any priest in America is viewed badly. As bootlicker culture is the norm and anything otherwise make you a bad person. - The police use old military gear and are immune to consequences. - violence means trump can enact martial law/gain the power to use the military, possibly starting a civil war. - people are struggling. They can't afford risking losing their job, taking a day off work, or having to take time off due to injury. - America big. A lot harder to organise widespread protests at all nevertheless regularly.
