@unpluggedmoments: I didn’t return the kindness. I just didn’t want to sit in garlic and regret for 8 hours. Be honest, would you have kept it? #gift #giftexchange #officedrama #worklife #socialetiquette #tiktokstory #coworkers #officevibes

No, not at all. I give gift receipts so the person can exchange it. I want the person to be happy.

They gave you that scent on purpose, there was an underlying reason... cause why would they be upset you changed it?

Not everyone likes the same scents. I’m sensitive to a lot of different smells. I don’t understand their logic. If it came with the gift receipt, you have the right to exchange. Plus, once a gift is given, it’s yours to do what you want. As long as you aren’t regifting to one of them.

I’m allergic to certain sense, perfumes, candles, etc. especially if they’re strong so I totally get that if my child gets me what they have in the two strong son they know that I will exchange them for a soft descent, though they understand that there’s nothing wrong with that

The gift is for you, not for them. What you did was perfectly fine and they should not have been upset.

The gift belongs to you, so you can do whatever you want with it… they need to stop being so petty. At least it’s still a candle👍🏼

No you did nothing wrong it’s not your fault. They had bad taste in candle sense that’s probably why she was mad because she realized you didn’t like the scent. She picked out her bad but that’s why the gift receipt is given in case the scent or the size or the color is not right for you. No harm no foul they need to get over it. And sit in the fact that they have bad taste.

they should not have left the receipt if they wanted to overpower you with roses and garlic… but everyone knows that lavender is for relaxation…

Not rude at all, that’s kind of the point of including the gift receipt.

When it comes to things like fragrances, gift gives should expect receivers to have individual tastes, especially due to sensitivities.

I would have exchanged it. Candles are hard to buy for people because you don’t know what they like or may be allergic to.
