I think a big part of this conversation is that there’s levels to AI and a general difference between assistive AI and generative AI. But I wanted to say that while I also see the benefits that AI can bring overtime, i have to acknowledge there are people is businesses, and companies with invested interest in using AI mostly for profit and theft. and who actively discourage conversations around regulation and using it safely. Something which I don’t think happened with the introduction of the Internet. People were very concerned, and therefore were educated on how to use it wisely. When most people are criticizing AI, I don’t think they’re criticizing the usage of it and examples that have to do with using it as a tool to assist scienentific research.
