honestly if you think about it, it can even look like Rumi was sabotaging their attempts to make the Honmoon turn gold. she doesn't let them rest, rushing into the next only to immediately have issues, that as far as they know she needed to rest for. she starts behaving weird around Jinu,(they watched him initiate an attack on the train that killed so many people!!) she deflects Mira's question and she starts faltering under combat almost getting them killed. having them switch their big song, forcing Zoey to rewrite again and again and then shutting it down last minute. and then the reveal. Without knowing Rumis backstory, it speaks very highly of their confidence in her that they are not angry

one really important scene i havent seen anyone talk about is after the train scene when they are sitting together in their house and mira and zoey both admit personal struggles they have been going through and rumi just says "im afraid of losing you guys too" when that was the perfect moment to be actually vulnerable for once

I remember hearing 'The worst thing about cheating is not the affair itself, it's the LYING to cover it up' And I'd say the same logic here applies to why the girls struggled to let Rumi back in when learning she hid SO MUCH from them.

I blame Celine, because Mira and Zoey were valid given their perspectives. But then Rumi WANTED to tell them, but then her mentor/adoptive mother told her she couldn’t. And I feel like Rumi didn’t have contact with other people very often, so in her mind, what Celine says goes. She couldn’t talk because Celine trained her to think that telling them was essentially a death sentence.

Tbh I also feel like while they did raise their weapons, the way they did it was for the very least more about trying to protect themselves but also pushing distance between them with the way Zoey only raises two blades or Mira pointing the spear at Rumi but not doing anything further from it considering Mira and Zoey have more ranged attacks compared to Rumi thus making Rumi an easy kill but they still don't want to hurt her

they've all shown to be aggressive towards demons the second they find out, but they didn't with rumi. and even after seeing the effect rumi had on the honmoon, when everything they've been taught says they need to get rid of the threat, they still let her go. if they really wanted to hurt her, they'd have gone after her, but they didn't. they were just scared and confused, and even though they only raised their weapons in defense, you can tell they regretted it immediately

I literally flinched when Rumi said “this isn’t about your insecurities Mira” like girl I know where you’re coming from because I’m SEEING what you’re dealing with but lashing out like that was oww. And Zoey saying that she’s usually on her side 🥺🥺 it was all so sad.

also lets talk about how zoey and mira stepped away. they were planning to leave, but rumi’s shook the honmoon. and yk what they always did when the honmoon rippled? they went after the demons responsible for threatening the honmoon. this was a situation no one was prepared for, they didn’t know what to do so they turned to their training.

literally half of the movie wouldn’t have happened if rumi just told zoey and mira about her patterns and they would’ve had a calmer conversation of what to do next. instead they get thrown a bunch of information and used muscle memory for their DEFENSIVE POSTIONS because of how overwhelmed they were. they love all of rumi they just wanted her to be honest and trust them like they do her

the fact that Rumi is able to lie PERFECTLY to Mira when she's hiding Derpy shows that she somehow perfected that lifestyle because ever since she was a child she is full of shame. That's why I also can't blame her here, and also can't blame the girls for being mad and confused

them just raising their weapons was so justified, yes! they didn't know if she was about to lunge at them or if this was a trick or what! and then they didn't chase her because they weren't raising the weapons in aggression but only in defense
