@maggiewiththedogs: It seriously looks like we laid tile! I’m obsessed 😭 Thanks to @Kyliekatich for the idea!! Here are some things we learned in the process! ✨ Cam cut out a 16x16 piece of wood to trace! We tried using a giant ruler at one point to make it easier but that didn’t stay straight so just trace! ✨ I found it was easiest to use a sponge brush for the outline and then fill in with a larger brush bc you will need multiple coats! ✨ Make sure to prime and seal! The sealing was just like a giant mod podge project! ✨ Don’t get too caught up in it being perfect! We used dots to mark which checkerboard was where. And we definitely went back and forth doing several final touches before sealing, but unless you’re looking for mistakes, you really can’t tell!
