I do not want to sound negative, and indeed, I am sure that there are good families out there. I will now always be cautious about assuming that what I see in plain sight is what it is. I am now aware that sometimes, it is a display. I do not know what goes on in that family unless I have got to know them well.

Yes my partner's family. When I am with them not only it hurts. That I didn’t have that but I don’t know how accept their nice behavior towards me. And I realize all over again how damage I am and that hurts even more.

i told him before that he’s a good son and as a person. met his family and i touch by how care they are to each other. so lovely that i bet he wouldn’t understand how it feels to wish someone in your family die. thinking hard and deep, the bright side on why we ended so he wont see how broken am i as a person.

The first year I moved out (after my dad essentially forced me out 2 years after my mum died and 1 year after he found a new gf) my dad went up to be his new partners family for Christmas hours away from me. I didn’t get an invite. I was 24. Alone. My friends found out and I ended up spending Christmas with them. That was 2014. I’ve spent Christmas with someone else’s family every year since. I appreciate everyone not wanting me to be alone, but it tears my heart up each year too. (We are now no contact)

I get so jealous to see families that are "alive". my parents never felt really with me, not even my other relatives. there's something that reeks of d34th when I'm around them, something that's not there in other families. I just recently discovered that people talk so much more than what I thought, and that life can be more joyous than what I thought. i lived all my childhood in a home that felt like a cemetery. it still does.
