@tajweedmastery: Surah Zumar, verse 56. We have 2 types of ldghaam: Thamm (complete) and naqis (incomplete). Idgham Naqis is when an attribute of the mudgham letter (the first letter, which is saakin) remains behind after the assimilation has taken place. Here, we should clarify the itbaq. This means we do not merge the b into the completely because the b is strong (due to its qualities istila' & itbaq). So, this word فَرَّطتُّ is idgham naqis. We apply it by keeping the itbaq of the ط, skipping its qalqalah, then pronouncing ت. So we should connect the tongue pronouncing a ط without qalqalah, then distance the tongue pronouncing a thaa mutaharrikah. We do this by pronouncing the ط with ltbaq but without qalqalah and then lowering the back part of the tongue, then disconnecting the front part of the tongue from the gum.
