I'm sure Marlene was just scrolling on social media reading all the theories and deciding she wasn't going to do it bc people had guessed it. She went too far in trying to outsmart everyone and now pll has what is considered one of the worst endings in TV history

Mona being A was also set up so well when you go rewatch from ep.1 and are able to see all the easter eggs and hints of it being her that they laid out in season 1&2. Like Mona saying she “almost feels guilty” when Hanna is in the hospital after camp mona, she says it’s bc Hanna was sneaking around her party, but in hindsight it’s bc she’s the one who hit her. Also when Mona rips up Caleb’s letter to Hanna and Hanna confronts her about it, Mona’s face when Hanna says she knows about the letter is SO obvious that she thinks Hanna knows about an A letter!!

Best real A reveal will ALWAYS be Mona & worst will ALWAYS be Alex! I feel like they got as tired of the lead up as we the crowd did. Everyone had already put out so many theory’s that actually made sense there was no way they could let us guess the ending! The absolute worst -A story line s will forever be TOBY, EZRA AND ARIA. Neither one of them should’ve been able to come back from that!! They went too far and enjoyed it.

I wish they hadn’t ruined Ali’s character. Sasha played the mean girl so well. And while Ali being A would’ve been too obvious, they really should’ve had her play a part in the A-Team at some point. Like some major part bc she would’ve been perfect.

Too many people guessed it was aria. Literally all the votes pointed to her. That’s when Marlene switched it. I’m assuming she was paying homage to the final A in the books by sticking with the twin thing but it was just sloppily put together just for shock value. She literally wanted the Charles reveal to be so twisted & she was surprised one person online still guessed it correctly

Unpopular opinion, but my favorite A reveal was CeCe because of the story to it and how they explained it all and gave her backstory. Mona was good too, but I just feel like CeCe was epic. And you explained how disappointing the finale was so well!!! ❤️

a few people have mentioned they had a 5-season master plan, then had to readjust when it was renewed for 6/7. I think CeCe was Big A already, but the trans storyline, Alex, and Mary Drake were probably to fill the extra time 🫠

I completely agree! Also watching it week to week with all of the TV adds was also the crazy part! 5 weeks until A and then finding out it wasn't actually A and repeat!

Back to say that Troian has talked about how she and Keegan would have “story time with Marlene” starting in season 5 where between scenes Marlene would tell them the entire story of the rest of the show bc she had it planned out. I love PLL so much, but if Marlene had it all planned out and didn’t change a thing from her og plan, it doesn’t really reflect that well that NO ONE watching saw where things were headed 😅😭😭😭
