@otownfork: @Love Snacks ❤️ in Orlando, FL is a Brazilian snack shop with three locations throughout Orlando. I visited the I-Drive location that’s next to the outlets and this spot is seriously the most perfect place for a shopping break. The decor is cute and I love the insane variety they have! Their main specialties are Coxinhas and basically anything fried and stuffed with deliciousness. My standouts are the empanadas, hearts of palm bites, catupiry stuffed kibbeh, corn and cheese balls, cheese balls, and dulce de leche stuffed churros. Truly you can’t go wrong with anything here and I can’t wait to go back and try more. Thank you so much to Love Snacks for having me!

The tiny Caribbean island of Dominica will create a sperm whale sanctuary, the first of its kind for the endangered species. Not only will this reserve protect the whales, it will also help fight the climate crisis. The marine protected area will span around 300 square miles, and will serve as an essential feeding and nursing grounds for the whales. It will also play a key role in enhancing carbon sequestration, or capturing and storing atmospheric carbon dioxide, which will help with the global effort to mitigate climate change. Sperm whales play an important role in the carbon sequestration process. The whales dive deep into the water to eat, and then break the surface to breathe, rest, and relieve themselves. Whale excrement is nutrient rich and fertilises the surface water. This helps create blooms of microscopic algae, called plankton, that live at the surface. The algae absorbs carbon from the atmosphere, and then when it dies it sinks to the bottom of the sea pulling all that atmospheric carbon down with it. The 250 sperm whales in Dominica’s waters could help sequester around 4,200 metric tonnes of carbon annually, according to reporting from Reuters. Thats “equivalent to the carbon sequestered by 18,000 acres of U.S. forests in one year.”
