There is great freedom in the knowledge that we can come boldly before the throne of grace. No Priest needs to interviene. No need to find the right Saint who has jurisdiction over my request. Just pouring out my heart to the creator of Heaven and Earth knowing I have His undivided attention.

So sorry to hear about your family’s experience. That priest was wrong for saying that. I was hesitant to ge to know the saints for a while but lately have found them constantly pointing me back to Jesus. I do agree though that many Catholics are poorly catechized and are taught not to bother God. Want to do that differently as a parent myself. Jesus wants to hear us all the time for the smallest things.

The way you described talking to the saints kinda maybe me think about ancient mythology/paganism. Probably wrong but aren’t a lot of Christian/catholic holidays reimagined from paganism.

No offense, but I see catholic following the Old Testament and following the Law of Moses. I had to get communion for my dad after his mother/my grandmother passed away, because they denied him even after he come forth about the situation, I took the communion that I was not confirmed for. Granted by my ain’tZ But because my my dad had to do this whole big deal because my dad ex wife took all of his basic Essentials.

Thank you for responding with such kindness. I hope you all had a great time after the party, and that you got plenty of much needed rest after staying up from Moana. First I would like to say that I am so sorry about what happened to your family members. And I agree with you that the person who committed such atrocious crimes should have stayed in prison, and that perhaps that priest may have been misguided or at the very least used a poor choice of words resulting in an unclear message in his advice. I have too much respect for you and your position to sit and argue back and forth on basis of theology especially after you said yourself you don't necessarily agree with some of our justifications of our beliefs or interpretations of the old language. But I would be remiss if I didn't say anything in defense of my faith, so I'd like to present you Catholic.com as a resource on it and invite you to look around on there. They have academic articles explaining any questions you may have. Some stuff you seem to be aware of and disagree with, but other things you may not know. I say this not to force you to change your beliefs or anything, but that in the hopes that you may learn something that you find interesting and that through my watching this video and you looking through the site that we may better understand each other's perspectives. Most if not all of my relatives on my dads side are Catholic and my father grew up catholic and he left the church. But I can tell you most if not all of them are back stabbing hypocrites.
