The best part of this bucket list Peru itinerary ➡️ I spent zero hours planning it because Intrepid Travel did it for me! 📌Save this post for Peru travel inspiration  Ad* I just experienced the most epic 9 days in Peru, thanks to Intrepid Travel and the Peru tourism board! It was my first time being part of a group travel experience and I loved it. Peru is a destination that requires advanced planning to see the top attractions (i.e. Machupicchu) so I really appreciated that Intrepid saved me HOURS of time to put together this trip. Plus I loved the group atmosphere, we quickly became a “travel family”. And most of all, I loved our guide, Willmer, who made the trip informative and fun every single day! I chose Intrepid’s “Premium Peru” 9-day itinerary, which includes elevated accommodations at each location. BUCKET LIST PERU ITINERARY DETAILS ⬇️ ✅ DAY 1: Walking tour of Lima. ✅ DAY 2: Arrive at the Amazon Jungle. ✅ DAY 3: Explore the Amazon Jungle by foot, by boat, and in the treetops via 7 suspension bridges. ✅ DAY 4: Fly to Cusco, and explore the historic centre. ✅ DAY 5: Get acclimatized to the new elevation on this free day. I chose to do an alpaca and llama hike through the Andes Mountains. This was the only private tour I organized outside of Intrepid’s itinerary.  ✅ DAY 6: Drive to Ollantaytambo. Along the way you will visit the Willoq Community to learn about their traditional way of life and stop for coffee at AMA, A social enterprise supporting single mothers in the Sacred Valley. End the day at Ollantaytambo’s Archaeological site. ✅ DAY 7: Take the train to Machupicchu. On this day, you can add on the one-day Inca Trail hike to Machupicchu. Note: this hike needs to be booked in advance. I HIGHLY recommend it! ✅ DAY 8: Explore Macchpichu’s archaeological site up-close. ✅ DAY 9: The final day allowed for an optional activity so I chose the hike to Humantay Lake. Note: this is a tour add-on that you book in advance.
