@nonsensi.cal_lyrics: oops in my defense, I havent had a single symptom in the last 4 years that wasn't called functional before we figured out what was causing it and I was ✨scared✨ p.s. this type of treatment of patients puts BOTH the people with functional symptoms AND without functional symptoms at risk. if you're gonna tell everyone functional until proven otherwise you're gonna have people with actually functional symptoms and FND unable to accept it and people with structural symptoms refusing medical care out of fear. this is bad practice for everyone. I want someone to do a review of my local hospital system so badly. there's technically a number for the misdiagnosis rate for FND but it hasn't been updated in decades. I'm waiting to see that one eventually updated but I'd be so curious to see what the number is specifically at this one massive hospital system. I now know multiple medical professionals who have actually left it because of the FND misdiagnosis issues and MULTIPLE people with brain tumors, cysts, or damage causing them issues who were told their symptoms were functional from anxiety here. this hospital system has taken over almost every other hospital system in the region, and recently refused to see me unless I went to their pain clinic for something that ✨isn't causing me pain✨. I'd love.
