@roundwithmemd: I work as a hospitalist. 7 days on, 7 days off. It’s chaotic, then peaceful once the off week starts. The trade-off? A brutal workweek followed by time to reconnect with family, hobbies, and whatever else I need to get done. What do you think about the schedule? #worklifebalance #md #premed #meded #medstudent
As a RN 3 12s in enough . 😂😂😂 I could never do 7 12s

Those schedules really worry me. Because you’re telling me that on the sixth and seventh day, your patients are getting the same kind of care that they did on the first and second day? Youd need to be super human. Especially since it’s not a 9 to 5.

12 hrs/7days is a lot. However, we all have done it sporadically. That week off would be a must.

As a hospitalist I worked as an admitter in the ER so I just needed to work twelve 12 hour shifts per month to meet my full time requirement. No nights, no call, no codes or rapid response. To me it was much better then doing 7 on 7 off as a rounder

Night shift hospitalist PA. Work 7 on 7 off as well. So far definitely stressful managing all cross cover calls and admits but worth it in the end.
