My ex was an alcoholic, so I was almost never the problem. Once early on in our relationship, mid argument my now fiancé said “you’re just not used to being in the wrong” I went from 😠 to 😕 and just said “yeah, you’re right” and the argument ended lol

I have to take a beat SO often and say “I’m sorry I overreacted and took it out on you. It was inappropriate. I felt overwhelmed and overstimulated but that doesn’t mean my emotions need to take the front seat.” Or just simply “I’m sorry. I’m not mad I’m just hot.”
