Besides this ridiculous shit — where are they getting funds for $30 tickets!? I was 20 (2010) and the HVAC system at AMC startling leaking on me in the middle of the movie I and I was like WTF! Shit happens but I wanted my money back and they were like nah. Here’s a coupon for popcorn next time. The industry is ruined.

My parents do this but they raised me right. I’m also a theatre kid so I know theatre etiquette I’m quiet and peaceful. I can’t imagine being rude.

I went and seen the last insidious with my husband (trash movie but I digress), we watched about 20 minutes of the movie and the whole time a group of 6 GROWN MEN atleast 23+ are cracking jokes and laughing dramatically and making fart sounds and cat calling at the movie itself and throwing popcorn… we got up and left after two ROWS OF PEOPLE GOT UP AND ALSO LEFT BECAUSE OF THESE JERKS!!! We got free passes to use later but at least 15 people got up and left and they didn’t make these guys leave…

That’s why I didn’t go see wicked when it came out. And I wanted to. But the videos I saw of obnoxious theater kids screeching for the whole two hours. No

I’m so sorry. I’m a teacher and this stuff happens in our classes too. Yes, we call parents, write them up, but it happens over and over. Post-Covid has been interesting…..🥺

When I saw the fnaf movie back in 2023 there were these two teenagers who kept discussing spoilers for the movie before they happened and pulled out their phones to google a major spoiler. Like cmon

My local theatre stopped playing around thank god. Bunch of kids annoying during Godzilla minus one and they got kicked out. Ever since they don’t let anyone underage be alone in the theatre at any time and it has made a world of difference

It falls a lot on the theaters too for not properly enforcing their own rules and hiring enough for security. Why would they stop if there are no consequences? This is outrageous!

something i’ve noticed with the theaters now is the age requirement and ratings not taken too seriously. my friends parents will be concerned if we want to see a rated R movie (we are of age) but it’s just they don’t check ID anymore so anybody can go in if they “look of age”. luckily my theater is more strict with if you look of age but if there were middle schoolers in materialists or longlegs that would be an issue. could be a post covid thing with the lack of profit theaters are getting from less showings and audiences but yes, there is an issue with the ID’s and checking of age customers.

Last week, I went to go see a movie with my family and during the middle of the movie, these kids kept pulling the fire alarm, which caused so many interruptions for multiple theater rooms and everyone ended up getting refunds. It was so messy 💀

the last movie I took my kids to was at a dinner theater. I'm convinced that's the only way to see a movie anymore. and it was fnaf, so they were all high school aged kids, but very chill atmosphere

Same. I got 30-40 times a year as well. They just let their kids run around and talk now. One parent answered a phone call my last time. I’ve invested in a home theatre but I do still like the magic of the theatre experience when done right

Btw if you complain to the staff like genuinely complain they will possibly stop the film and probably kick them out.

I go to the theater a few times a year and this kind of thing has happened multiple times, feels like this didn’t happen pre-pandemic. It’s like there’s a generation that just doesn’t know how to behave in public spaces

I work at a non profit theater so we have way less screens than regular chain theaters do, so it’s a lot easier for us to be told of issues and repeatedly check in and make sure the issue isn’t continuing. I’d definitely suggest trying to go to a smaller theater, you’ll probably be treated better and appreciated a lot more there!
