Hey so, I don’t know if you’re being obtuse in the comments or not, but sea salt ( even with no additives ) and marine salt are different, you’ll also need to measure the specific gravity of the water and have it between 1.020 to 1.024 salinity, and also the nitrite cycle hasn’t started yet, so the oyster decaying will release amonnia into the water, with no nitrifying bacteria to get rid of it. There’s also the issue of a filter, and heater, since pea crabs are tropical.

You used the wrong salt. Just because it says sea salt doesn’t mean it’s the same salt that’s in the ocean, it’s harmful to marine life. The only salt you should use for marine life is aquatic salt from pet stores.

lol NOOO… also tomorrow when your car says it needs oil, throw some olive in the engine and see if that helps. If you go to the pet store, find “instant ocean sea salt” try that on your corn, it’s interchangeable! Yummy.

Sadly they go into the oyster when they are in their larval stage and grow up in there, effectively trapping themselves in the oyster and in this case, now out of the oyster, so it will not be able to go into a new oyster.

Lmfao from somehow that’s in the saltwater hobby. That is not how you create ocean like salt water! There’s special solutions you mix for this, then test to make sure ph levels are even okay to put ocean life in. The sea salt you mixed had me dying 😂

I live in Seattle where I'm not sure these exist. but a client who has oyster farms on the east coast sent me a batch and warned me... and told me to eat them with the oysters if I find them. hell yeah they are delicious and they were still alive, a good sign for freshness 😋
