#singleover40 this is for my younger sisters in womanhood. These are the things I have learned. This is not advice on how to get a boyfriend or a husband. This is advice on how to interact with men in this world, when there are so many threats, and maintain your mental and physical health and safety; to still actually have the guts to believe in love, and give love a chance, when we are dealing with the type of world that actually exists. That’s what this is about. How to safely get out of difficult situations with grace and charm and how NOT to settle for BS that makes you miserable. I know you younger ladies are a lot more independent than us Millenials/Xers. I was independent for my age butbI still ended up trapped and dependent. I’m becoming more #independent after #divorce. That is the bottom line for maintaining the #personalempowerment to keep yourself happy. That’s the biggest chance you have of finding someone who not only doesn’t make you miserable, but also increases your joy. A foundation of independence and inner stability. It sets everything else up. And what is the successful result? It’s not getting married. I was miserable when I was married! That does not have to be the case, but being in a miserable marriage is not winning. A successful result is having healthy interactions and having a joyful experience in life. That’s a successful result. The fact is we still have to interact with men despite the statistics on violence against women. I have posttraumatic stress disorder. I am still learning. This is what I’ve learned so far. I hope some of this blesses you with joy, freedom, and true love.
