I think people have gentrified the word gentrified and made it mean something it no longer means. But I think you're correct that poly has become a brand in a way. But as a monogamous person, I see a lot of my poly friends fumble through it so I can see the need for supporting material. And even I, not being part of the community, is like "that doesn't sound like open and honest communication nor part of the established boundaries you've previously mentioned" so idk

I think they mean that in their view, all relationships should only involve monogamy, so polyamory shouldn’t exist and therefore is by definition cheating, just dressed up and with rules. Personally, I think love is love and people should decide on their own how they relate, but that’s what I think they mean.

The term gentrification, as a colloquialism, has altered from its original meaning. it's usually when someone does sees something that has been cleaned up and changed around, and even used to make things seem more palatable. Basically, the term gentrification, it has become great a quick way of saying, yes, something has gone more mainstream. Yes, that is the complete improper usage. intakes away from it original. The definition in it basically devalues depowers the. it is the same phenomenon that happens or has happened to the word woke. granted, it started as kind of a colloquial term, but its original meaning Which was basically a warning telling people of color to stay inform. and upto date it. And in the know about Political and racial situations and nuances. this is not what the term woke, it's being used for now. It sucks, because you know, wouldn't words get and even phrases. You get it reassigned, and so to speak their original meaning can end up lost. which could lead to a host of other problems
