I’ve always worked in the “it only has to be available if they walk in” schools and I still didn’t do it lol

Our plans have to be submitted by 8 am on Monday. Some write lesson plans but I use the lesson plans the curriculum already has. Just print it out and upload a copy to the folder online. This might change since we got a new principal

When I was a first year teacher, I caught on by the beginning of September that my principal didn’t give AF about me and my students (self contained SPED). I submitted the exact same lesson plan to her email from September until May.

Telling us to use the district planning guide because “it’s all there for you” but still wanting a 50 page document. I used to link my plans but would forget to allow them viewing permissions ☺️

Why are we not talking about the fact that these newer curriculum already have tired lesson plans embedded with the curriculum? That’s exactly what I submit. Submitting lesson plans is such an antiquated practice.

This should be differentiated. As an administrator, I see many teachers that are prepared and internalized.

😂 I may know someone who lets ChatGPT write their plans. Per our contract our admin can’t tell us to upload them.🤷🏾♀️

I use to have 14 pages of ELA plans due every Thursday by 4:00....elementary teacher! Then, the instructional coach would look at them and give you feedback. How are you giving me feedback on ELA plans when you've only ever taught middle school math and had zero clues about foundational skills in lower grades🤔🤔🤔🤔 On top of that, if you didn't have them turned in by the due date, you would get an email threatening it would be reflected in your teacher evaluation.

If your IC or Principal is actively in classrooms like they are supposed to be, no need to submit. But everybody gotta be different. 😑

In June, I had an administrator hunt me down like the FBI for last quarter lesson plans. Called me, sent me numerous emails, had another admin call me. I mean it was harassing and vicious. Mind u, my program is online with the plans included. It killed my spirit! It's the craziest thing ever. 30 years educator here!

I have a daily slide that has the “I will, we will” and activity/lesson title plus any links I’m using and I just have to share it with my principal. The TEKS and all the other stuff are in the lesson w/ the curriculum if she wants to see them. It’s so much better

We haven’t had to submit in 2 years probably because at the secondary level there may or may not have been a group of us that did the bare minimum or refused to turn them in at all and we were willing to take the hit on our T-TESS but they never marked us low there. 😂 some of us may have reminded them about the excessive paperwork and because we were a small district some of us had 4 or 5 preps in high school. Seriously, our district has been not been consistent on lesson plan. All depends on admin. Going into year 19 and we have all new admin at middle and high school so I’m curious if they are going to try and pull any of this mess again.

We have to submit ours a week in advance, and they must contain the seven components of a highly effective lesson plan. We are allowed to use bullet points, but it’s still pretty long.

I don’t gave to submit lesson plans at all. We have to fill out a form that similar to one for our formal observation. In our PLC we fill out a form about the unit we’re working on or the next one

i don’t even think lesson plans are the issue. it’s what they want in the plans. when i started lesson plans were a short outline of what we are doing.
