@bet.you.i.am.bek: Many autistic people experience attraction in unique ways that aren't often talked about. This can include deep emotional or romantic feelings for fictional characters, objects, or machines. These experiences are valid and often linked to how autistic brains process connection, safety, and imagination. • Fictosexuality – Attraction to fictional characters, often from things like anime, books, or games. • Objectum Sexuality (OS) – Romantic or sexual attraction to objects. • Technosexuality – A type of objectum where attraction is focused on machines, robots, or AI. Strong special interests can create deep emotional bonds, and fictional and non-human relationships often feel more predictable and less socially overwhelming. Fictosexuality, Objectum Sexuality, and Technosexuality patterns of attraction often overlap with the Asexual Spectrum (ace-spec), and are most common among those with Aegosexual and Cupiosexual patterns of attraction. However, many autistic people with Demisexual patterns of attraction also experience Fictosexual patterns of attraction and attachment. Friend, you're not weird or alone. These experiences are common, and I hope the information shared here helps you understand some of the 'whys' behind them. #fictosexuality #objectum #technosexual #fictionalcharacters #anime #tism #autistic #asd #animeboyfriend #neurodivergent

For a while now I've been suspecting that i might have autism or am part of the spectrum. This video just honestly confirms my suspicion, but how do I truly know if I do? Getting it checked is expensive and I doubt my parents would ever let me.

I have a lot of sensory issues associated with heat & touch, which is also an element, on top of these points, that makes an attachment to the machine comforting. I, personally, channel it into art and writing to maintain a healthy psyche.

Stop 😭 This is probably why I love characters that I'd hate irl. They're usually more complex and I get to imagine I could understand them and they'd kinda like me (they wouldn't).

So you’re telling me my obsessions with fictional men are because I’m autistic

it's a little sad that the world can be so cruel to neurodivergent people that fictional characters end up feeling more safe. People will belittle and demonize this attraction, but you have to wonder... if the world was kinder and more understanding, would we be more attracted to real people?

As an aroace person, I’ve always been able to feel romantic attraction to fictional characters but never real life people. I denied being aroace for SO long because of it 💔

thank you for making this informative video!!! i’ve always figured there was a connection between autistic people and their attachment to fictional characters that i could never put my finger on, but you brought it all together perfectly!!! i was able to even connect points you made back to my own experiences. i do also consider myself semi-ficto and i selfship with a character i’ve had a deep attachment to for the past 2 years, so i think having a proper reasoning for why i have this attraction helps me a lot!!! :) 🫶🫶

I'm aroace except for fictional characters probably because of this
I can control everything and I can take everything I dislike out of the relationship and the character will never hurt me
also probably why I'm objectum too

I love selfshipping but it’s so miserable, because I cant interact with those characters irl 😭 also I’m terrified that I’m unable to love anyone irl and I do wanna be alone

🥺 I'm just sitting here with my (probably) unhealthy love for aliens, monsters and anime men. I'm a high-empathy autistic lady but yup also checks out why there's a lot of us who love Kpop idols, too

As someone who likely has autism with hyper-empathy mixed with a jumble of other mental/psychological issues from repeated trauma I’ve experienced in real world relationships, I’ve always been terribly embarrassed with how strongly I connect with fictional characters. Mostly so when I cling into my own original characters so strongly and no one else seems to really understand it. Thank you for creating a safe space to talk about these things without judgement and educate others on the matter. This has been one of the very few spaces I’ve felt comfortable in discussing this topic so openly.

most fictional characters are hotter than real people, with fictional characters I can fantasize what its like to be with a guy thats actually attractive vs real life where i have to settle for guys that look like a thumb aaand treat me like garbage.
